We had the pleasure of working with M&R Masonry on a multi-part project involving three fireplaces, including two traditional masonry fireplaces. They also completed crown work and flue relining with true craftsmanship and precision.
We had two challenging tasks that involved lowering both a masonry and non-masonry fireplace. The masonry fireplace was taken apart meticulously inside of a delicate, original wooden frame that was completely unharmed.
From start to finish, they delivered exactly what they promised—on time, on budget, and with incredible attention to detail. Beyond their technical skill, they were genuinely a joy to have in the house. Professional, respectful, and clearly passionate about their work, Marcus, his brother and their team exceeded our expectations at every step.
Highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality masonry work. We’ll absolutely be calling them again for future projects.

M & R was totally professional and a pleasure to work with. All their work on my historic Craftsman home was done beautifully and with care, and I'm especially careful about details. They did all jobs as promised and worked with me to make sure everything came out as I wanted, including tricky, delicate repairs to my vintage porch, antique driveway curb, and flagstone walls. We hired Marcus to repair our leaking chimney. He and his team were punctual, hardworking, and professional. They installed new flashing, a cement crown, a spark arrestor, and stucco. The chimney looks great, and I’d gladly hire him again for masonry work.

Highly recommend Mr. Masonry. Marcus and team are A+. We found them based on great online reviews and are thrilled to add ours. Scope included removing the existing firebox and damper and rebuilding for optimal draft capacity, sweeping/cleaning/relining the chimney, extending chimney height and re-installing the spark arrestor/rain cap. The estimating process was thorough and our questions were answered in detail. Communication throughout was responsive and thoughtful. They were here, on schedule, for 2.5 days and all during that time did well minimizing disruption, dust and noise by tarping off rooms, covering floors and using a giant vacuum tube near the fireplace which made for a very clean work site. It’s clear Marcus and crew take great pride in his work, and we’re very happy to have found them.

I highly recommend M & R Masonry. I had another company do some work on the chimney. I was able to see the difference between a professional and an amateur. Marcus, Mike and the helper did an excellent job making masonary repairs & chimney sweep at a very good price.

This was a lucky find for us. They are real craftsmen. Perfection barely begins to describe the work the do. They completely rebuilt the fireplace in our 1933 house. They on time and protected our house from construction dust. Just AWESOME and Amazing.

I had a very old brick veneer retaining wall at my property where the brick veneer was separating and coming off of the wall. I was really worried that the only fix would be to replace the veneer, but this brick is all over the property so that would have been extremely expensive. Marcus was able to assess the problem and, instead of pushing a full replacement, his team removed every single brick from the wall, cleaned them up and placed them back on the wall after fixing the problem. I'm amazed by how fast they did it and how seamless it looks. You really can't even tell that there was an issue. Definitely saved the day and I highly recommend this company!

M&R did a fantastic job and did it in record time. They built a set of concrete and stone steps in my yard, completely redid the firebox and chimney on my 1911 fireplace, which was in very bad condition, and poured a new walkway that had been torn apart for an earlier earthquake retrofit - all in less than two weeks! I can't even wrap my head around how they plastered the interior of the flue from top to bottom. Craftsmanship was excellent throughout and price was very reasonable. Couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommended.

Marcus and his team are the nicest, most hardworking and most skilled contractors I've ever worked with any capacity. My 1920's home had a collapsed chimney. When it came time to rebuild it, Marcus quoted me a price that seemed too good to be true. But he and his team were there nonstop, completing the project speedily and with gorgeous results. The chimney exterior matches the rest of the house exactly and the firebox itself is stunning. We finished it in a beautiful herringbone brick pattern that has turned it into the centerpiece of the living room.

Marcus and M&R Masonry are the best! My husband was an architect with construction experience. He looked for a long time to find someone with craftsman workmanship and professional experience to rebuild our 1941 home's chimney. He chose Marcus and M&R Masonry. Marcus and his team were more than great! They worked non-stop, measuring and leveling everything, and cleaned up everyday. The build had three phases of inspection; but that didn't cause any delay. Marcus kind of saved my life too because he had my plumber do something to my gas line, and my plumber said it was good timing because it was rotted or rusted out and would have had a gas leak soon. My neighbors also commented they could see the quality in their workmanship and work ethics. And lastly, my chimney (and fireplace) looks great!!!

Marcus and his team at M&R Masonry fixed back to back brick fireplaces and chimneys that had been badly screwed up by prior improper repairs, and they did it a third of the price of the company recommended by our broker. That company pretty much bragged about how expensive they were, and implied that we'd be fools not to use them because they were so much better than everyone else. Not so. M&R did excellent work, and were quick, quiet, and clean -- very clean. They literally spent a half hour at the end of each work day cleaning up their work areas. Hire these guys. You won't regret it.

M&R Masonry came out to repair my fireplace which was severely cracked. Marcus and his team did an amazing job. The quality of work is outstanding at a price you cannot beat. The job was completed in the final weeks of the year and the crew put in the hour to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time including weekends. The workers arrived on time every morning and worked into the dark hours of the day. The city's inspector complimented their workmanship and we enjoying our new fireplace. See the before and after pictures I attached to this post. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get their fireplace repaired or any other masonry work.
